Clock & weather

The clock and weather modules are usually the first items you read on the mirror. They depend on correct time zone, NTP sync, and a weather provider configuration.

Clock

Steps

  1. Open Settings β†’ Region & time.
  2. Set Time zone (search by city).
  3. Choose 12h or 24h format.
  4. Enable show seconds if you want a ticking second hand (uses slightly more CPU to repaint).

ℹ️ Note: If the clock drifts or OAuth fails elsewhere, verify NTP first (timedatectl over SSH).

Weather

Steps

  1. Open Settings β†’ Weather.
  2. Set location by city name, postcode, or lat/long (per provider).
  3. Pick units (Β°C / Β°F, wind units) consistent with your region settings.
  4. Set refresh interval β€” 10–15 minutes is typical for home use.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Name locations distinctly (Home, Office) if you later add multiple weather tiles for travel.

Troubleshooting

β€œLocation unknown”
Provider rate limit, bad API key, or typo in city name β€” check module logs.

Temperature differs from phone app
Different provider algorithms; compare station proximity not brand logos.
